Overview
The adjustable span, also called a telescopic span, is a self-supporting runner for slab shuttering. It is built from a 2 mm base sheet with bracing rods and stiffening flats, and its length can be changed to suit the bay. This lets one span fit a range of slab widths and carry the horizontal formwork. JBFS lists six length ranges, up to 5.50 m.
